Businesses urged to get ‘Skills to Succeed’
Skills to Succeed is a campaign to help businesses access the training and qualifications they need.

The Department of Employment and Learning has launched a further roll-out of the Skills to Succeed campaign.- The Youth Employment Scheme – a programme offering young people voluntary work experience placements to develop the skills needed to get and retain a job.
- Essential Skills – training to assist employees with the development of their communication, numeracy and ICT skills.
- Apprenticeships – a work-based programme designed around the skills needs of employers and offering recognised qualifications for its apprentices.
- Training for Success – a scheme providing personal and vocational training for employees.
- Foundation Degrees – a qualification combining academic and work-related learning to improve the skills of employees.
- There is also guidance for employers keen to support staff undertake part-time higher education training to develop their skills and strengthen their business.
