Businesses urged to get ‘Skills to Succeed’ The Department of Employment and Learning has launched a further roll-out of the Skills to Succeed campaign.
 
Skills to Succeed is a package of support to highlight the range of solutions available to help employers raise the level of skills within their organisation. 
 
The assistance available through Skills to Succeed includes programmes and training services that can help both businesses and individuals reach their full potential.
 
Employer support is available through initiatives including:
 
  • The Youth Employment Scheme – a programme offering young people voluntary work experience placements to develop the skills needed to get and retain a job.
  • Essential Skills – training to assist employees with the development of their communication, numeracy and ICT skills.
  • Apprenticeships – a work-based programme designed around the skills needs of employers and offering recognised qualifications for its apprentices.
  • Training for Success – a scheme providing personal and vocational training for employees.
  • Foundation Degrees – a qualification combining academic and work-related learning to improve the skills of employees. 
  • There is also guidance for employers keen to support staff undertake part-time higher education training to develop their skills and strengthen their business.
