Local business owners and managers are invited to attend a number of free Masterclasses taking place across the province during the month of February. The Management & Leadership Network (MLN) is once again spearheading the award winning ‘Management Month’ initiative, which aims to support local business people at a time when they need it most. Pictured at the launch, where they were ‘Drumming Up Support for Management Month’, are (from left to right) Peter Ellis from Being Communications, Joanne Grant from JCDecaux and Niall Harkin from Northern Bank.
The 12+ free events within the Management Month series will cover a range of topics and will provide access to first-class speakers, all of whom will share their experiences and knowledge liberally. As an active member of the business community you are encouraged to ‘Make the Most of it’ by attending as many events as you can. Some events will focus on the soft skills required to succeed, such as ‘The Art of Communication’ and ‘Tops Tips for Business and Management’. Others will focus on more technical aspects like ‘Social Media and the Law’ and ‘Digital Marketing’. There should be something for everyone, with a view to injecting knowledge, improving performance and strengthening businesses.
MLN is free to join and currently has in excess of 3,200 members from across the private, public and third sectors. Every piece of activity within Management Month has two clear aims:
1. To raise awareness of the importance of excellent Management and Leadership
2. To directly assist local Managers and Leaders through the sharing of excellence
MLN is delighted to have the support of numerous local organisations and businesses, each of which recognises the need for the development of management and leadership capabilities within the local economy. Without their help and support, MLN and the Management Month series of events would not be possible. The generous partners for 2012 are: Airtricity, Bailey Waste Recycling NI, Being Communications, CMI, dcp strategic communication, FPM Chartered Accountants, Helios IT, the Institute of Consulting, Invest NI, JCDecaux, McGrigors, Northern Bank, Podiem, the School for Social Enterprises in Ireland, Solmatix Renewables and the Ulster Business School.
The Month will close with a flagship conference on Wednesday 29th February at the University of Ulster in Belfast, which costs just £50+vat. For more information and to reserve a place on the free Masterclasses or to book your ticket for the Management & Leadership Conference visit www.mln.org.uk.
