Big Coffee Break for NI Hospice

Coffee and glamour took centre stage at The Lyric Theatre today when Northern Ireland’s largest charity launched its annual Big Coffee Break.
Miss Northern Ireland, Leanne McDowell and NI Hospice Ambassador and model agent Alison Clarke raised the curtain on the Northern Ireland Hospice event which aims to upstage last year’s £70k fund-raising effort.

Supported by Bailies Coffee, NI Hospice is encouraging organisations and supporters to host a Big Coffee Break on October 1 – or a suitable date up to December 31, 2015.

Miss Northern Ireland, Leanne McDowell, said: “I can’t think of a better way to enjoy a cup of coffee, knowing that it has raised much-needed funds for the new Northern Ireland adult hospice. This is a fantastic fund-raising event that gives everyone, from social groups to businesses, an opportunity to take a break, have a coffee and socialise all in the name of a great cause.”

Joanna Pawson, Northern Ireland Hospice Events Manager said: “The Big Coffee Break provides a great way for the local community to support our work and to raise vital funds to fit-out the new Hospice so that we can continue to offer patients the individual care they need. So whether you sign up to organise a coffee break with colleagues, friends or family, or a big coffee party, every pound raised will make a difference.  All we ask from those participating is a suggested donation of £2 per cup of coffee served.”

Ross Kane, Business Development Manager: “Bailies is delighted to support NI Hospice’s Big Coffee Break. We are pleased to offer everyone who registers for the event a complimentary bag of Bailies coffee to brew and enjoy at their own coffee break. It’s also great to know that the care taken in producing our freshly roasted coffee will ultimately support a great cause, providing care for those with life-limiting illnesses.”

Sir Bruce Robinson, Lyric Theatre Chairman and a member of NI Hospice’s Development Board, said: “The Lyric was delighted to host the launch event for NI Hospice’s Big Coffee Break, and we hope that it will kick-start registrations and get people motivated to raise funds for NI Hospice.”
