Over the course of the past three years, Alexander Mann Solutions have been working in partnership with the Department for the Economy and Belfast Metropolitan College in Northern Ireland, to design and deliver first-class pre-employment programmes for school and college leavers.

Launched in 2014, the Graduate Recruitment Academy has proven hugely successful, with 44 per cent of colleagues currently based in the Belfast Global Client Service Centre having graduated from the Academy.

The Graduate Recruitment Academy, designed under the Invest Northern Ireland Assured Skills initiative, is a six-week pre-employment training programme designed to provide high-potential individuals with the skills and experience required to enter the world of work, with the prospect of being offered a position with Alexander Mann Solutions.

To date 58 Academy graduates have joined Alexander Mann Solutions at their Global Client Service Centre in Belfast in a variety of roles including Sourcing, Accounts, Business Intelligence, Marketing, and Technology with over 60 per cent achieving promotions within their first two years of employment. Capitalising on the huge success of the Academy model and the demand for local talent in Belfast, this year will see the biggest intake of graduates for the 5th cohort of the Academy.

Nathan Coyle, Technology Support Officer from the first intake of the Academy comments, “After graduating from the first academy in 2014, I initially worked as a Procurement Specialist for a year. Within this role I looked after relationships with our clients, in particular, facilitating our Partner Programme clients. I’ve now moved on to work on the Portfolio Management Office team where I am responsible for ensuring all technology projects are governed to the highest standard through each stage of the project lifecycle which I really enjoy. I feel Alexander Mann Solutions have fully supported me in developing not only my professional self but also my personal self. The Academy gave me the opportunity to learn lots of new skills, many of which I didn’t have the chance to acquire during my time at university. I have gone from strength to strength in my career and have the Academy to thank for that.”
