Women in Business played host to a 'Special' guest in Belfast today as they opened their new event programme for autumn 2009.

Mary Davis, Managing Director of the Special Olympics for Europe/Eurasia took time out between engagements in Brussels and Limerick to stop in Belfast and provide inspiration and encouragement to over 80 female entrepreneurs who attended the Invest Northern Ireland funded event.

Mary spoke about her career to date and how she leads the Special Olympics management team in 58 countries and chairing the Irish Government's taskforce on Active Citizenship. Her many successes and humorous anecdotes were warmly received by members and guests in attendance.

Christine Boyle, Chair of Women in Business was delighted Mary took the time to speak with and inspire the business women of Northern Ireland 'It was great to begin our new programme of events with such a high profile guest speaker. Mary is one of Ireland's leading ambassadors and demonstrates great leadership, drive and enthusiasm for what she does.
