Michael McIntyre and Ruth Morrow, the speakers at The Power of Partnership event, brought a timely message to encourage and help large and small businesses, develop and expand.
Michael Mc Intyre, Principal Consultant, Envision Management Consultants, is an experienced business advisor with a focus on sales development and project management. A firm believer that business opportunities are available to those who form strategic partnerships, Michael's key points for success are: have a common vision and common values, agree commitment early on - both partners must recognize the level of commitment they can give, communication is critically important, so deal with issues when they crop up, and he ends with an urge for all businesses to, 'go and seek partnerships where the sum of the parts may be greater than the whole'.
As is normal at all Women in Business events, the evening was interspersed with "2 minutes of fame", an opportunity where you can sell your product, service or business to the audience. The four business women offered a wonderful variety of services: Motivational Speaker Letitia Fitzpatrick, Solicitor Angela Brady, Laura Templeton of Equiniti ICS, and, Aine McAnallen of Fire Safety Solutions NI..
Ruth Morrow, co-founder of Tactility Factory, paired up with Textile Designer, Trish Belford, to establish a business 6 years ago, which is a great example of partnership and innovation across seemingly diverse fields - concrete and textiles! A part-time partnership, Tactility Factory has taken Ruth into zones she never anticipated going, and although very different people, 'when we come together, that cross programming of 2 individuals, releases a lot more' than she ever thought possible. Ruth strongly believes in the need for an entrepreneurial and collaborative approach and encourages businesses to, 'give it ago...because this has been life changing for me... and resulted in some of the best work I have ever done'...the perfect endorsement to the 'Power of Partnerships'.
The evening ended on a high with facilitated networking. Seated at tables of 8, you had the opportunity to partnership with the other 7 members, and as you enjoyed a light supper, are given the chance to cultivate deeper relationships, and hopefully a lasting partnership...
