POWER OF 4 ALUMNI WIN BIG AT BIC17 AWARDS

Congratulations to Cailin Hardy and Angela Wilson who won first and second places at the Antrim Enterprise Agency Business Idea Competition 2017 Awards.

The Business Idea Competition gives entrepreneurs across Antrim and Newtownabbey the chance to showcase their ideas to win cash and business support to the value of £10,000. Prize money was provided by Antrim Enterprise Agency and Bank of Ireland UK. Both Cailin and Angela were shortlisted by a panel of business experts. They then made their final business pitches to an assembled audience at the Old Courthouse, Antrim on 14th November. Prizes were awarded for innovation and how each business reached out to their customer base. 

Cailin, of ‘It’s Cailin Actually’ is a personal coach, focusing positive body image. Angela’s business ‘Silver Apples’ design and manufactures vintage inspired children’s clothing.

Both Cailin and Angela are previous participants of our Power of 4 start-up programme, so we’re particularly delighted to see them get the recognition and support they need to make their businesses a success

As first place winner, Cailin was awarded £1,500, Angela the 2nd prize of £1,000. Both will also receive one year’s business support to the value of £6,750.

The competition saw an all-female shortlist of six business ideas, representing the best, brightest and most innovative businesses in Antrim and Newtownabbey.
