WIB Mentoring Programme Gets Underway

On 4th November the Women in Business Mentoring Programme got underway. Sponsored by Advance Coaching, the programme matches accomplished professional women with Women in Business members wanting guidance to advance their careers and boost their businesses.

Demand for the programme has been very high and we were overwhelmed by the number and calibre of women willing to volunteer as mentors. Women who have achieved high levels of success in areas such as marketing, law, finance and as business owners came forward to provide support, guidance and the benefit of their experience. Mentees too are from a broad range of disciplines looking to develop either their careers or build their business.

In this first round of the programme a total of 38 members have been matched with mentors. We plan to run a second, and possibly third round within the next 12 months. Training for both mentors and mentees is provided, with an optional ILM in Coaching offered to mentors. There are also opportunities for mentors and mentees to network at interim stages of the programme.

Mentoring is a developmental partnership through which the mentor shares knowledge, skills, information, perspective and networks to support the mentee in personal, professional and/or business development. It is a partnership between individuals, often, but not necessarily, working in a related profession/sector, and is a relationship based upon trust and respect.

We are currently recruiting for round two of the programme. If you are interested in registering as either a mentor, or mentee, please contact Vicky Moore- vicky@womeninbusinessni.com- 0845 6076044
