Join us on Tuesday 18 August at 10am where EY and Women in Business will co-host a virtual business issues webinar entitle “The Next Wave for Business – Looking at the Now, Next and Beyond”.  This will be a session focussed on the main issues at the top of the agenda for everyone at the minute in the world of business, including the impact of Covid-19 and Brexit.  If you’re involved in business in any capacity, whether an entrepreneur ploughing your own furrow, or working within an organisation this is the session for you.

Our host, Lindsay Russell is an Associate Partner in EY’s Assurance business.  Lindsay has a wealth of experience working with NI’s top companies.

Lou Gray is head of Transitions and Operations in EY’s EY Absolute workstream, and is the go-to expert in the field of payroll-related matters.  Lou will be discussing how the Furlough scheme has evolved to its current state, what that means for payroll processing now and in future, and what to look out for in terms of mistakes, fraud and working from home.

Shannon Cunningham, a senior manager in the tax practice, will give some insights on the current status of Brexit, and the main expected implications as they currently sit for companies here in Northern Ireland.  She may need her crystal ball!

We will also have input from one of our local banks, who will outline what funding and financing looks like from their perspective in a post-lockdown world.

A representative from one of our top universities, is also invited to speak about the Belfast City Deal, and give an overview of its current status and likely opportunities for the business community across Northern Ireland.
