I’ve worked in Marketing and Communications based roles since graduating from Queen’s University in 2003; I started my career as PR Officer with AMH Action Mental Health before moving into a more strategic role of Marketing Manager with Campbell College, Marketing Executive with Bradford College at the University of Adelaide in Australia and Lead Officer Communications with Ards & North Down District Council before leaving employment to start a family.
It is a story a lot of us are familiar with, I had a beautiful baby girl and decided that the “9-5” world was no longer for me; I wanted flexibility and self-employment offered that. So, I started Copper Square Communications in November 2015; my vision was to bring the years of strategic marketing and communications experience to small business. In the last (almost) 4 years I have developed a business from just an idea to now working with a range of businesses across Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. Copper Square Communications offers social media training, manages content and advertising and encourages a strategic approach to using social media as part of your overall marketing mix.
Copper Square Communication’s client base is varied, from micro-family business, high growth company and multi-national. At present, amongst others, we are working with The Portaferry Hotel, The Independent Group of Companies and Heineken Ireland.
A huge believer in collaboration, I have developed a working partnership (and fantastic friendship) with fellow Women in Business member Rosemary Morrison. We set up “Fascinating Company” – and run a series of business growth events and sector specific marketing training programmes.
Most recently, I have teamed up with Louise Brogan (Social Bee NI) to bring a “Social Media Bootcamp” to Belfast on Friday 31 May. This is a one-day conference with a difference offering SME, business owners and marketing professionals the opportunity to spend a day working on their business while learning from expert speakers and fellow business leaders.
I offer one-to-one and group training and have several events in Belfast in the coming months including how to use LinkedIn and Twitter to raise your profile. To find out more about the training opportunities and social media events please visit my website www.coppersquareni.com
