MayWe is a Belfast based startup specializing in high quality, client focused event management. The company is comprised of 3 experienced partners who collectively have over 40 years’ worth of experience in the event and cultural management sector.
Each an industry professional in our own right we joined together in 2018 to work on several large-scale events and programmes, drawing in audiences of up to 6000 people per event. We decided that the time was right to make it official and join forces to form our own management organisation unlike any other.
At MayWe, We have access to a wide and varied range of high quality skill sets, networks and resources to offer organisations a little help (or more if needed) to design, market, deliver and evaluate exciting and innovative events and experiences.
Sarah-Jane graduated from The University of Manchester with an MA in Arts Management, Policy and Practice following on from gaining a first class honours degree in Contemporary Art History from Manchester Metropolitan University.
Sarah-Jane has a range of experience as an Event Manager, Arts Facilitator, Duty Manager for large conference and entertainment venues, Arts Officer in the charity sector and has worked in the Hospitality industry for over a decade.
Fun Fact: Sarah-Jane recently facilitated an arts workshop attended by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge
Lois gained a first class honours degree in Leisure, Events and Cultural Management as well as a diploma in Industrial Studies from the University of Ulster. She has pursued a successful career in the arts and events sector with over 18 years of event management and duty management experience within private companies and the public sector, including large scale conferences and outdoor events.
Additionally, Lois has been operating her own successful business, Debutots, which has been offering drama in education services to schools, youth groups and early years settings since 2008.
Fun Fact: Lois has sailed the Atlantic Ocean on a Tallship!
Karen graduated from York University with an MA in Community Music Practice following the completion of a Management Practice certificate from the University of Ulster.
Karen gained over 15 years experience working as an Arts Development Officer in local government council departments where she managed funding, developed programmes for artistic development in the local area and managed community events. Additionally she has been a freelance music facilitator and arts manager since 1999 and most recently has worked for as an Arts and Operations Manager within a community arts setting.
Fun Fact: Karen toured with a rock band in the 90s!
