Michelle Greene, Northern Ireland & Ireland Sales Executive of WeddingDates

I help hotels and event venues to get better results and revenue for the Weddings part of their business.  Our technology is an easy to use solution for the venue to manage all the enquiries and bookings they get from engaged couples. It ensures that the couple has a great experience and that the events team stays on top of everything. We have a suite of products to suit different customers, and I am primarily responsible for new business on the island of Ireland.

Give us a brief overview of your career journey so far
Hospitality and Tourism is my passion, I’ve worked in the industry from a young age for the past 16 years. I really understand the challenges faced by venues both operationally and financially, having gained experience in both.

I graduated from Ulster Business School at Ulster University with a Masters in Event Management, International Hospitality Management.
I obtained a strong grounding in hospitality operations and made my way through the ranks. In the last few years, I moved to the revenue generating side of hospitality to Event Sales.  High points along the way included placing first out of 300 applicants for a role as Trainee Operations Manager at Celtic Manor Resort, being awarded Manager of the Quarter in 2018 and being runner up Event Manager of Northern Ireland in 2020.

Moving to WeddingDates has afforded me more sociable hours and a better work-life balance. It’s a company where my experience is really relevant and I can make a difference.
