New competition launched to find ‘Danske Tech Stars’
Danske Bank and Women in Business have joined forces to launch a new competition that will see four local tech entrepreneurs win 12 months’ free desk space in the new Catalyst Belfast Fintech Hub co-working space.

The Catalyst Belfast Fintech Hub is Belfast’s first dedicated fintech co-working space, located on the ground floor of Danske Bank’s city centre headquarters. It opened its doors in September.

David Allister, Head of Partnerships and Digital Alliances at Danske Bank, said:
“There is a growing number of local early stage technology companies operating in the finance space who are ambitious to scale and expand into new markets. At Danske Bank, we want to leverage our skills and networks to encourage and support these companies, and are delighted to partner with Women in Business to give four start-ups the opportunity to join Catalyst Belfast Fintech Hub.

“The winners will not only benefit from the expertise of the teams within both Danske Bank and Catalyst Inc, but will also have the opportunity to learn from international start-ups and best practice through Danske Bank Group.”

Roseann Kelly, Chief Executive at Women in Business added: “We’re delighted to partner with Danske Bank and support Women in Business members who are working in the tech sector. It’s a truly unique prize, where the competition winners will be able to develop and grow their business ideas, while working alongside industry peers in the new co-working space.”

The competition is open to Women in Business members working on an innovative product or service in the fintech sector or a related technology sector. The winners will share workspace with local startups such as Finmondo, LoyalBe, Zymplify and Oroson.

Applications can be downloaded from the Women in Business website and must be submitted before 17 December 2018.  Applications will be shortlisted by a judging panel from Danske Bank and Women in Business.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to pitch their business ideas in a Dragons Den on 11 January 2019.
