At a glance…

The Explore It programme offers free support to women who are at the pre-start (idea stage) or early stage of trading in their business.

The programme will provide support over a 4 month period, from October 2022 - Feb 2023, allowing time to action some of the programme learnings. Training will address a wide range of business start up issues and help to build confidence and grow business skills.

There will be 2 Explore It programmes, one for the Belfast City Council area and one which will be Northern Ireland wide.
There will be 15 participants on each programme - as an important part of the Yes You Can ethos is to enable participants to build a peer group for brainstorming of brilliant ideas and sharing in support with like minded women.

Who is it for?

  • If you have a business idea, and may have carried out some research, but you are not sure if it is viable or how to go from idea to trading

  • If you have received some support with your business idea (e.g attended the Go For It programme) but you need more help to secure your first sales

  • If you have had some sales but it is low level (hobby/side hustle) and your vision is to create a full time business

  • If you are trading less than a year and sales levels are still very low and you need to review your idea and develop your sales and marketing

“I started the programme with a business idea and little more. Since starting the programme I have clarified exactly what it is I want to offer, secured premises for my fitness sessions and will be ready to launch soon.”

“This programme has been amazing from start to finish all the content has been very beneficial for my business and I wouldn’t be where I am with my business if it wasn’t for this programme.”

YYC participant

“I've taken risks I wouldn't have before the programme to put myself out there, and now I've started the journey I want to be on. I have a progression plan that I'm confident to follow now instead of it being a pipe dream.”

YYC participant

“The programme helped to refine our ‘elevator pitch’, with clarity on our business personality and USP’s. We are still pre trading, so lots of the information we learnt will still be of use in the future when we launch our business to the market.”

YYC participant

“The programme has helped me boost sales through platforms. I have renamed my business and now use Instagram and Facebook - it has all been worthwhile!”
