Awards launched to honour facilities management in Ireland.

A Search for Superiority

The search is on for extraordinary organisations and individuals operating within the facilities management (FM) industry in Ireland as the BIFM Ireland Region Facilities Management Recognition Awards, sponsored by VickerStock Engineering Recruitment, are officially launched.  Now in their 4th year, the awards have become the most esteemed recognition for FM industry professionals in Ireland.
 
These prestigious awards celebrate excellence and recognise outstanding achievements, projects and those teams and individuals who have made a significant contribution to the development of the FM industry in Ireland, and, in particular, workplace services within the industry including catering, security, cleaning, maintenance, energy, IT or health & safety.
 
This year’s award categories include FM Professional of the Year, FM Team of the Year and FM Project of the Year. Entries will be judged by an independent panel of industry and academic experts from across the UK and Ireland, including Professor Heaney, Professor of the Built Environment at the University of Ulster, Jordanstown; Liz Kentish, The FM Coach; Gareth Tancred, CEO, BIFM and Rebekah Lyons, CEO, Portobello Institute.
 
Organisations and individuals from the public, private and voluntary sectors are encouraged to enter the awards which will ensure that they are officially recognised for the excellent work that they are doing and the standard they are setting for this thriving industry.
 
Speaking about the awards, Jacqueline Byrne, BIFM Committee Member said: “Year on year our awards are growing and developing and the standard of entries increases in line with the innovative work which is being carried out across our region. We look forward to receiving the 2014 entries.”
 
The awards will be presented to the winners during the 18th annual BIFM Ireland Region Conference at the Belfast Waterfront on 14th November 2014, with each award winner receiving a specially commissioned trophy and certificate; a complimentary place at the BIFM Ireland Region Conference; a prize to the value of £250 as well as the significant media profiling for their organisation.

Deadline for entries is Thursday 9th October 2014, with winners announced at the 18th annual BIFM Ireland Region Conference at the Belfast Waterfront on 14th November 2014.
