Pilates is a holistic mind-body exercise that combines breathing techniques and strength training. Exercises are designed to improve flexibility, mobility and muscle tone, with an emphasis on core strength. Many of us experience stiffness or discomfort which may be in part due to sedentary activities, repetitive tasks or a lack of movement caused by our work environment. Pilates can ease these symptoms and help you to relax and regain focus and serenity.

Jana is a certified Instructor who started teaching Pilates over a year ago when she returned home from living in France, where she worked as a Neurolanguage Coach and English Language Consultant. A love of teaching plus a love of Pilates made becoming an instructor an obvious choice. Through running numerous group and individual classes per week locally, she has noticed many people don’t appreciate what Pilates is or how beneficial it can be as a regular practice. She has had positive feedback from her now regular clients who have noticed the benefits of coming to just one class per week. 

Businesses are recognising the benefits of Pilates for their employees and Jana is now offering a corporate service dedicated to those seeking to enhance employee well-being, and provide professionals with an enjoyable activity and a change of scenery at their place of work. Key benefits of Pilates in the workplace include enhanced core strength, improved posture, mindfulness, focus, and relaxation. Jana adapts the sessions to different fitness levels, and tailors workouts to address specific needs with the goal of addressing the challenges of a professional setting, focusing on posture, stretching, breath work, mobility, and stress reduction. Pilates workshops can take place for various events, including corporate days, team building, staff development, and wellness initiatives.

Beyond the office and regular weekly classes, Jana offers Pilates for special occasions such as retreats, open-air events, hen parties, birthdays, and weddings (as a group activity before the big event). As a practice it can be done and enjoyed just about anywhere.
