We wanted to reach out to you as your 12-month mentoring programme is drawing to a close soon.
Mentors we very much hope you have enjoyed your experience and look forward to matching you again from our next Mentee cohort. Sincere thanks for your very much valued and valuable contribution to other women in the WIB network. If you consider your Mentee might make a good Mentor in the coming year then do please let us know.
 
Mentees we very much hope you have enjoyed your experience and that the development, networks and support that you have received are making a tangible difference to your career or business. Perhaps you might now feel ready to become a Mentor too and gift back to another woman in the coming year. If yes then please do get in touch.
 
In preparing for closing off your mentoring you might like to plan a final review and these questions may assist you with this:
  1. Mentee thinking of your initial expectations and development goals, what progress do you feel you’ve made?
  2. Mentee what are the themes, patterns and messages that have arisen from mentoring and how will these influence you going forward?
  3. Mentee what do you see as your Mentor’s strengths and what have you valued most about your Mentor’s support?
  4. Mentors what do you see as your Mentee’s key strengths and what is their greatest potential and challenge going forward?
  5. What development themes does the Mentee still have and how might they continue to progress?
  6. What type of informal connection might you both have now going forward?

This programme is delivered by Women in Business, sponsored by Advance Coaching, and is ​available exclusively to our network members. 
 
Mentoring is a developmental partnership through which the Mentor shares knowledge, skills, information, perspective and networks to support the Mentee in personal, professional and/or business development. It is a professional relationship based upon trust and respect.
 
One of Women in Business most successful programmes, it has grown from strength to strength, with nearly 100 successful and inspirational business women now gifting their time and expertise to support and guide many women in business members. At its heart this programme promotes a core aim of the network to support women at all stages of their career and business development.

Women in Business offers places on the programme three times per annum, matching 20 Mentors with 20 Mentees for a 12-month programme of mentoring support. As a result, we are continually recruiting experienced and accomplished women, who are willing to gift their knowledge and expertise to other women at an earlier stage in their careers.
 
Research has shown that the benefits of mentoring are mutual and that Mentors actually “report greater salary, greater promotion rates and stronger career success”. WIB Mentors report greater communication and leadership skills, wider networks as well as huge personal satisfaction of making a difference to another woman’s business life.

Mentors
 
Mentors are drawn from a wide range of business and professional backgrounds, assisting their Mentee in career or business development through information & skills transfer, confidence building and sharing of networks. The Mentor will be able to offer valuable knowledge, empathy and insight due to their own many years of experience. Mentors will be supported, through training and have the option to complete an ILM Certification – Introduction to Mentoring. As a Mentor you will also be given the opportunity to connect with other Mentors at dedicated CPD and networking events.
 
 
Mentees
 
Mentoring is most effective when it is driven by the Mentee. Therefore, Mentees will take ownership, through a Mentoring Agreement, to be active, fully engaged, curious, open to challenge and willing to stretch their development and learning. Training will be provided for Mentees to ensure they are fully prepared to harvest all the opportunities of the time spent with their Mentor.
