Spark It ABC is a fully funded, 12-week support programme for women in the Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council area who are exploring self-employment or growing an early-stage business.

Through expert-led workshops, peer support groups and tailored guidance, the programme is designed to help you build confidence, gain clarity and take your next steps in business.

This programme is funded by Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council and will be delivered by Women in Business NI.

Who should apply?

This programme is for women based in the Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council area who are at the pre-start or early trading stage 

You might be developing a new idea or taking your first steps into business - this programme is designed to help you move forward with confidence, whether you’re just starting or building momentum.  

Eligibility Criteria

To apply, you must:

  • Live in or have a business address in Armagh City, Banbridge or Craigavon Borough Council Area
  • Be 18 years old or over
  • Be at the pre-start stage or early stage trading
  • Be able to attend all programme sessions
Key Dates
  • Programme runs: October 2025 – January 2026
  • Workshops: 2 full-day in-person + 4 half-day online (dates TBC)
  • Peer sessions: November & December (online)
  • Final Showcase: Thursday 8th January 2026  (TBC)
  • Applications open: Late June
  • Applications close: 5pm Monday 21st July

  • 2 in-person workshops (full-day sessions in accessible Borough locations)
  • 4 half-day online workshops
  • 2 online Champion-led peer support sessions
  • Launch and final in-person celebration event
  • Private Facebook group for support throughout

With a background in advertising at agencies Saatchi & Saatchi, TBWA, and McCann Erickson Belfast, and business development experience at Arts & Business NI. Heather boasts a diverse skill set encompassing project management, content creation, and a range of other vital enterprise skills. Heather proudly wears the label of a serial entrepreneur, having successfully launched three businesses, including her current venture, "Kill It With Quizzes." She is an enthusiastic advocate for supporting women fulfil their business dreams, drawing inspiration from the rollercoaster of her own entrepreneurial journey! Heather's mission is clear: to empower women from all walks of life to create a better future for themselves by starting their own businesses.
