Hot-Desking In Hospitality

A few years ago, a fraction of employees worked remotely. Look where we are now. Remote working is here for the long haul.

Can working from home however, feel liberating and limiting at the same time?

Freelancers and small start-ups are no strangers to the quandary of where to work. Unfortunately crowded coffee shops with questionable wifi or a shared office space with budget busting membership fees were the only options. Looking now to the hospitality sector, the difficulties this industry has been faced this last year, is unprecedented. Under capacity outside of peak trading hours, however, has always been a problem for many venues even before the pandemic.

Is there a single solution to both of these problems? VennWorks, Northern Ireland’s new workspace booking platform, thinks so. According to Women in Business member, Susie Hall, VennWorks Cofounder, “even before the pandanmc, remote working was becoming more common. We believe a realistic and sustainable model of working is a mix of working from home, the office and in public venues and this is where we come in.”

VennWorks is a membership based booking platform, transforming underused space in Northern Ireland’s coolest cafes, bars, restaurants and hotel lobby’s into hot-desk hubs, available to book for freelancers, start-ups, remote workers or anyone fed up with working from home! As well as helping people discover new ways to work, the platform also drives footfall to their carefully selected, locally owned venues, with the potential to increase revenue during the quieter day time hours.

The concept itself is very simple, and one that works in many big cities like London. Members sign up for a VennWorks membership, every member gets a 2 week free trial, then choose from either a £20 monthly rolling contract or get 2 months free with a £200 yearly subscription, find a venue you like, then book a “desk”, from 1hr to a full day.

VennWorks installs their own secure, high-speed wifi, so members have a unique login across all sites, Members also benefit from exclusive discounts on the food and drinks at the majority of the venues. Launching with a host of well known names in hospitality, from city centre haunts to neighbourhood nooks across Belfast, Holywood, Bangor and Newtownards with new sites coming onboard soon.

No matter your industry or location, VennWorks has a work or meeting space to suit you. VennWorks would love to offer fellow WIB members 20% off their membership prices for an entire year, bringing the monthly membership down to just £16 a month and a yearly subscription to £160! To avail of this offer just enter discount code WIB_WELCOME at check out. Offer valid until 16th December 2021.
