My name is Orla Quail, I am a Graduate FPGA Design Engineer at Oxford Instrument Andor, having recently graduated with a First-Class MEng in Electrical and Electronic Engineering with Sandwich from Queen’s University Belfast. During my studies, I was awarded the Yondr Women in STEM Scholarship and an Institute of Engineering and Technology Future Talent Award. In my final year, I received the Linggard Award for my project in neuromorphic engineering. Now working in FPGA design, I am passionate about building a career in engineering and encouraging more young women to explore opportunities in STEM. Outside of work, I enjoy painting, hiking and experimenting with new recipes.
