Belfast City Council - Navigating EU Exit

As part of Belfast City Council EU Exit mentoring support, a Webinar series, facilitated by Innovation Factory and Oxford Innovation focusing on Food and Hospitality and Retail and Craft sectors is taking place in early March. These webinars will provide information, resources and help for Belfast businesses navigating EU exit and the 2021 market.

The ongoing mentoring support with local businesses has highlighted the particular help, support, and guidance required by the food and hospitality sector. Questions regarding changes to import/export processes, taxes and documentation since EU Exit and the uncertainty of how things will look upon reopening after lockdown have frequently arisen.

In this webinar, taking place on Friday 5 March 2021, 11:00 you can hear from experts and industry professionals in the sector about steps you can take now to mitigate these issues.

Topics will include

information needed to import and export products between NI and GB,
what new systems to use when importing or exporting food products
the easements available to support traders moving food products in and out of NI.
the changes in food regulations,
standards and labelling
what you need to know and how to appoint or become a named representative.

The Second in the Navigating EU Exit series of webinars will be focusing on Retail and Craft Businesses and the effects, challenges, and opportunities of EU Exit on this sector. Local craftspeople, shop owners, florists and artists using the 1-2-1 mentoring service have highlighted the need for targeted information.
