The Davy UK 7 Million Step Challenge

In 2019, Davy were delighted to announce the Children’s Cancer Unit Charity (CCUC) as their charity partner, who they will support through a company volunteer programme until the end of 2020. As a business, Davy are focused on delivering world class outcomes for their clients. The CCUC supports children and their families in Northern Ireland affected by cancer. Davy aligned with this charity as they share the same passion; like Davy they are always working towards delivering better outcomes for their children and Davy knew that together they could offer something truly unique.

Over the last 2 years, the team at Davy UK have been involved in numerous events and challenges to raise money, and to support the charity through events such as the Stormont Mile, the Belfast Marathon, the Christmas Light switch on and the Christmas Pantomime to name a few.  With COVID-19 restrictions in place, and all fundraising events cancelled, it hasn’t been as easy to provide the support that Davy had anticipated for 2020, but the team found a way. In the month of July, the Davy UK staff set themselves a target to run, walk or skip 7 million steps to raise much needed funds for the CCUC. 36 staff members took part and walked over 12 million steps which is around 6,155 miles! The team also raised over £10,000 for the CCUC. 2020 has been a difficult time for the charitable sector, despite this the CCUC continue to support families in Northern Ireland affected by childhood cancer, and Davy continue to support them. The CCUC depend on donations to provide the very best care for their young patients and their families. The team at Davy UK were delighted to take part and give back to such a deserving charity.
