Back Her Business Programme
On the 20th March, Ulster Bank held a dinner centered on female entrepreneurship, bringing together experts, customers,  stakeholders, politicians and media to discuss the recent Rose Review findings and Ulster Bank’s new Crowdfunding partnership, Back Her Business.  The conversation brought to life:

  • Women make up 33% of entrepreneurs in the UK
  • Achieving parity in start up rates could generate an additional £250bn to the UK economy
  • Diversity inclusion doesn’t only make sense commercially, it is fundamentally the right thing to do
  • Currently 1p in every £1 of VC funding goes to female led businesses
  • Networks cannot be under estimated
  • Role models, especially ‘attainable’ ones are key
  • Fear of failure in NI is higher than other parts of the UK
Chaired by Lynsey Cunningham, Regional Director for Entreprenership at Ulster Bank, guests included; Roseann Kelly, CEO Women in Business NI, John Healy,  Paula Bradshaw MLA, President of the NI Chamber, Ingrid Devin, Head of DWEN, Michael McQuillan, CEO Enterprise NI and Entrepreneurs Ava Brown and Sinead Sharkey.
