Sudha Van Der Have

Sudha Van Der Have

Project Manager & Culture Network Leader at Translink

With over 15 years of experience at Translink, I have built a diverse career across multiple areas of the organisation, starting in 2009 as an administrative professional within a bus depot. Since then, I have developed extensive cross-functional expertise, working across bus engineering, infrastructure, property and estates, rail engineering, and legal services- data protection. Having lived in Northern Ireland for over 24 years, I bring both local insight and a strong appreciation for the value of community and inclusion within the workplace. I currently play a key role in the delivery of the Belfast Transport Hub, where I am responsible for liaising between construction teams and bus and rail operations. My focus is on ensuring that complex construction works are carefully planned and delivered with minimal disruption to live operations, while maintaining alignment with programme timelines and proactively resolving challenges as they arise. I serve as the Operational Readiness, Activation and Transition Project Manager for the landmark Belfast Grand Central Station, leading the integration of operational requirements into one of Northern Ireland’s most significant transport infrastructure projects and ensuring the station is fully prepared for successful opening and ongoing operations. I have found the project management role to be a natural fit, and I have thoroughly enjoyed the challenge and responsibility it brings. Beyond my core role, I am passionate about creating an inclusive and supportive workplace. As Chair of the Translink Cultural Network, I help lead a platform that supports colleagues who have recently joined the organisation from around the world. The network provides a sense of belonging, offering guidance, understanding, and practical support to help individuals settle into a new country and workplace. I am proud to be part of an organisation that not only supports diversity but actively leads in creating an environment where people feel welcomed, valued, and empowered. Alongside my professional responsibilities, I am currently pursuing a Master’s degree at Queens University, Belfast in Construction and Project Management, further strengthening my technical and leadership capabilities.
