60 Seconds with Chloe Connor
Tell us about your role and your organisation.
I’m the Marketing Manager at Armatile. My role centers on driving strategic marketing initiatives that align with our business objectives and growth plans. I lead the development of integrated campaigns, oversee brand positioning, and analyse market trends to ensure we stay ahead in a competitive industry.

Armatile is a leading tile retailer and distributor, renowned for innovative designs and bespoke solutions. We work with homeowners, architects, and designers to deliver high-quality products and exceptional service. Our mission is to combine creativity with craftsmanship, helping clients transform spaces into something truly unique.

Give us a brief overview of your career journey so far.
I have over 17 years of experience in marketing management, working closely with leadership teams to shape strategies across North American and European markets. My career began in Canada, where I spent 13 years in the insurance industry before moving back to Northern Ireland to work in pharmaceuticals and now the tile industry with Armatile.
I’m passionate about marketing because it blends creativity and strategy. I love turning ideas into campaigns that connect with people and deliver results. Recently, I was proud to help Armatile win the ‘Best in Sales and Marketing’ award, which reflects the impact of our team’s efforts. Over the years, I’ve specialized in strategic planning, campaign development, and content creation, always aiming to make brands stand out in meaningful ways.

What is one skill that helps you most in your role and why?
One skill that helps me most in my role is resilience paired with a constant desire to learn. Early in my journey, I had to leave university to have my son, which taught me the importance of adaptability and self-motivation. Since then, I’ve embraced every opportunity to grow, seeking out new knowledge, learning from others, and staying curious. Marketing is an ever-evolving field, and this mindset allows me to keep up with trends, innovate, and find creative solutions to challenges. It’s not just about knowing what works today, but being willing to learn what will work tomorrow

What advice do you have for women in your industry?
My advice to women in marketing is to never be afraid to push boundaries and carve out space for your voice. Marketing is all about ideas, and the most impactful ones often come from unexpected perspectives. Speak up, share your creativity, and trust that your insights matter.
Don’t wait for permission to lead or innovate. This industry thrives on bold thinking and diverse viewpoints, so embrace opportunities to challenge the norm and bring fresh energy to campaigns and strategies.

Are there any exciting plans in the year ahead for your organisation?
At Armatile, the year ahead is all about pushing boundaries in tile design and application. We’re expanding our product ranges and continuing to innovate through our bespoke design and fabrication services, helping customers see tiles not just as a finish, but as a creative medium.

We’ll be working closely with designers, architects, and self-builders to bring concepts to life and create beautiful, functional spaces that go beyond the conceptual stage. Our goal is to inspire new ways of using tiles in interiors and exteriors, combining craftsmanship with imagination to deliver truly unique results.

Who has been your biggest career inspiration and why?
My biggest career inspiration has been my mum. She trained as a nurse during the Troubles and her no-nonsense approach to life and determination taught me never to let anything hold me back and to keep pushing through, no matter the circumstances. That mindset has shaped my career, especially working in male-dominated industries. I’ve always surrounded myself with strong female influences, and their resilience and confidence have inspired me to carve out my own space, speak up, and lead with purpose.

If you had to pick your soundtrack song to get you through the working day, what would it be?
