Karen Hamilton, Manager of Action Trauma

Karen Hamilton of Action Trauma is a driven and forward-thinking professional woman, who has orchestrated a successful career in communications, operations and events over the past 15 years.  In her previous roles at Titanic Belfast and La Mon Hotel, Karen has illustrated her skills in networking and building client relationships, The local community is very important to Karen, her passion to make a difference in her local community is what led her to pursue 10 years as a member of the Board of Governors and the PTA.

In recent years, Karen has found her job role at Action Trauma the most rewarding and stimulating of her career to date. Karen’s work within Action Trauma motivates her, as she feels she is making a positive impact on society and providing essential trauma awareness that is beneficial for both her local community and people around the world. Action Trauma is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to changing lives for the better by promoting awareness of Trauma and Trauma Recovery throughout the world, whilst also aiming to make a difference to those impacted by trauma locally, in the vicinity of Belfast and Northern Ireland.

As a manager at Action Trauma, Karen works closely with Director and Founder, Clive Corry to organise all of Action Trauma’s conferences and events.  Karen is heavily involved in the operational aspect of the organisation, from liaising with speakers, building relationships with exhibitors and creating event schedules, to having a direct involvement in the marketing and communications aspect of the company.

Karen, along with the Team at Action Trauma are thrilled to announce the Intergenerational Trauma Conference 2021, which will take place online 19th & 20th January 2021. This event involves a wealth of world-renowned experts such as Stephen Porges, Rachel Yehuda and many more, who will share their expert knowledge on this new field of trauma. Delegates will also have the opportunity to participate in workshops and to network digitally with up to 3,000 professionals in their field, allowing them to gain greater insights into trauma healing and how they can incorporate this into their own work. As a mother of three girls, Karen aspires to pass on her business acumen and her drive to make a difference to her daughters in the hope they will be inspired by her and pursue their own goals and aspirations with confidence and determination. Karen believes that “Together we can be the change, make the difference, and break the cycle.”
