Belfast Met can help if you have you been impacted by Covid-19

Has your job been impacted during the recent pandemic? Have you thought about developing your skills and engaging in training with an accredited outcome? Belfast Met is delighted to announce that they will be delivering a wide range of online training courses to help you and it’s free. Funded by the Department for the Economy, the Skills Intervention Programme  provides fully funded, online training to help anyone whose job has been impacted by Covid-19 to upskill or retrain.

Belfast Met have already delivered 17 courses over the summer months across a wide range of areas including Leadership and Management, Health and Social Care, Digital Marketing, Social Media and IT. These courses have enabled over 260 people gain new qualifications.  In the weeks ahead they will be launching another range of free accredited courses that you can access.

Business

  • ILM Level 3 Award in Leadership & Management
  • OCN Level 2 Award in Digital Marketing
  • OCN Level 3 Award in Business Development/Enterprise
  • OCN Level 2 in Social Media

Health and Social Care

CACHE Level 2 Introductory Awareness of Autistic Spectrum Conditions

NOCN Level 2 Award in Meeting the Needs of Learners with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder

OCN Level 2 Award in Managing Challenging Behaviour in Children and Young People

Engineering & Construction

  • OCN Level 3 Award in Digital Construction with Building Information Modelling

IT

  • Cisco Cyber Security Essentials
  • Microsoft Power BI
  • MTA Security Fundamentals
  • MTA Database Fundamentals
  • MTA Introduction to Programming using Java
  • MTA Software Development Fundamentals
  • MTA HTML 5 & CSS Development Fundamentals
  • MTA Introduction to Programming using Python
  • AZ-900 - Azure Fundamentals.

All courses are delivered completely online with support from lecturers who guide learners through a series of engaging tutorials that are designed to encourage more interaction and discussion.

A current Skills Intervention student who completed an OCN Level 2 course in Digital Marketing course, Bronagh McKernon, spoke about how the course helped her to develop new skills after her job role was impacted by Covid-19, “The course has been a breath of fresh air and has given me skills and confidence in these uncertain times. The lecturer has an amazing knowledge of the marketing industry. I look forward to logging on every week to learn and socialise by video call with all the other participants.”
