This is achieved with an individual educational assessment which elicits information about the child's strengths, weaknesses with any underlying learning difficulties.

This information can then be used to inform an on-going intervention in the educational setting and at home, as well as for considerations such as referral to another professional such as an OT therapist.

These findings are also invaluable when thinking about the suitability of a school placement, strategies to support school transfer, with consideration for additional access arrangements at examinations.

The  areas of assessment include:

• Assessment of educational difficulties
• Dyslexia
• Attention deficit / hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)
• Autistic Spectrum Disorders including Asperger

Additionally,I  has been carrying out medicolegal assessments and reports for lawyers and for courts and tribunals for more than 1o years and has acted as an Expert Witness in London, Belfast and Dublin.

Casework has included the following:

• Educational difficulties following accident or injury
• Special Educational Needs (SEN)
• Victims of child abuse and child sexual abuse
• Post-traumatic stress disorder
• Victims of Terrorist Attacks
• learning Difficulties
• Dyslexia (children and adults)
• Disabilities following birth injury
• Psychological Issues (eg. learning difficulties, ADHD, English as a second language) affecting criminal
