Cleaver Fulton Rankin has been crowned The Legal 500 Northern Ireland Law Firm of the Year 2018.

The Belfast-based commercial law firm which employs 100 staff at its city-centre location fought off stiff competition from other leading practices to clinch the title.

The Legal 500 UK Awards 2018 recognises and rewards the best private practice teams and individuals over the past 12 months.

Cleaver Fulton Rankin Managing Director, Jonathan Forrester said he was delighted with the firm’s latest accolade which had particular significance given the process by which the winners were selected.

Published for over 20 years, The Legal 500 Series provides some of the most comprehensive worldwide coverage currently available on legal services providers, in over 100 countries, and is used by commercial and private clients, corporate counsel, CEOs, CFOs and professional advisers.

The guides, which are published annually, are the result of rigorous and ongoing research – including interviews with thousands of lawyers and their clients across the world each year – and their contents are widely trusted for their objective assessment of firms’ legal expertise. Individual lawyers as well as practice areas are ranked.

Cleaver Fulton Rankin excelled in the rankings of the latest edition of this prestigious legal directory, reflecting its recent successes and expansion.

The Belfast-based firm is listed as one of just a few ‘key players’ among Northern Ireland practices. It was ranked in the top Tier in three practice areas and in Tier 2 in a further nine areas. Eight of the firm’s directors have been rated ‘leading individuals’.

Meanwhile, Associate, Anna McClimonds was nominated for the ‘Young Leader of the Year’ Award 2017 and just last month Senior Solicitor, Rachael Gamble won ‘Young Lawyer of the Year’ Award at the 2017 LawNet Awards.
