Huron Day of Service

This year, our Belfast office proudly took part in Huron’s Day of Service by supporting Crosskennan Lane Animal Sanctuary, a volunteer-run charity based in Antrim that is dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming of animals in need.

The sanctuary has been providing a safe haven for animals since 1996, caring for over 100 animals daily, including horses, dogs, cats and more, while also promoting education around animal welfare and responsible ownership.

The day was a fantastic demonstration of teamwork and generosity, and we are incredibly proud of everyone who took part. Colleagues contributed in a variety of ways, from supporting our in-office fundraising initiative, complete with an impressive spread of baked goods from our talented office bakers, to helping organise and sort the generous donations collected across the team ahead of delivery to the sanctuary.

On-site, our volunteers rolled up their sleeves and got fully involved in a range of hands-on activities. These included cleaning stables, grooming horses, and spending quality time with the sanctuary’s resident dogs and cats, helping to socialise them and prepare them for future rehoming.

This year’s theme, “Be Kind,” truly resonated with us all. Working alongside an organisation whose mission is to relieve the suffering of animals and give them a second chance made the message even more meaningful. Our team embodied this spirit throughout the day, demonstrating patience, empathy, and genuine care in every interaction.

It was a powerful and rewarding experience, reminding us that even the smallest acts of kindness can make a meaningful difference.
