Introducing WIB member Lee Johnston of Platinum Recruitment N.I Ltd
Having worked for the same company for 27 years (albeit through 4 different corporate identities due to corporate acquisition), I found myself in the uncertain waters of redundancy 18 months ago. At first, I was devastated believing that at 50 and being registered disabled, I would not be the most appealing of candidates. I could not have been more wrong! In fact, this change of course gave me the much-needed time out to think about what I really wanted to do!

I had been totally focussed for so long on juggling a family life, (actually that’s a lie I had pretty much zoned my family’s needs and mine out) with the demands of a 24/7 job, that I had forgotten why I had gone into recruitment in the first place. Redundancy gave me the chance to realise this. I wanted to change and to move away from recruitment management and back to my first and lifelong passion- exceeding clients’ expectations by providing a truly exceptional staffing service.
And so, a new chapter in my life began. Platinum Recruitment were seeking a Consultant to join their small but professional team of accredited consultants. To my surprise I was successful and was made welcome by this close-knit team of consummate professionals. Earlier this year, Platinum Recruitment launched its first Permanent Recruitment division AKA me. I love it – it is a privilege to assist companies find candidates that are critical/ pivotal to them meeting personal and corporate objectives and equally enabling professionals to realise their true potential by taking time to find out their motivation and aspirations and discuss their job ideals.
At Platinum Recruitment; we remove the hassle of recruitment, through transparent and quality driven recruitment practices, deliver staffing solutions which will increase productivity, save money and further enhance your corporate image. Similarly, candidates can expect a service which is free, confidential, friendly and ethical.
Platinum would be delighted to support you through any recruitment needs and can tailor our service to your individual requirements. If you have any vacancies which you would like to currently discuss with me or looking a career change, do not hesitate to contact: 02844838881 or email lee@platinumrecruitment.net.
As to being made redundant- well as Eleanor Roosevelt said, “A woman is like a teabag you never know how strong she is until she is in hot water!
