LIA are set to take over the fitness world
If you think strong is the new slim, then how about making a career at the gym? That was the message this month as Leisure Industry Academy, a home-grown provider of certified training courses for fitness professionals, launched its programme in Dublin.

The company, which has existing offices in Belfast and L’Derry has teamed up with several commercial and council gyms to provide courses for those wishing to qualify as fitness instructors, studio instructors and personal trainers. The move to Dublin follows a huge increase in demand for certified training in fitness.
Founded by Northern Irish entrepreneurs and fitness experts Lois Cameron and Mark Henry, the company already employs 10 tutors across its offices and to date has helped thousands gain certification in personal training, fitness instruction and much more. Already 4 tutors are in place in Dublin running 20 courses across multiple state of the art sites.
Leisure Industry Academy Director Lois Cameron said: “Interest in keeping fit and healthy has grown exponentially in the last few years with more and more people wanting to build a career in the fitness industry. We are really excited to be bringing our selection of courses to Dublin and expanding our already growing network of specialist trainers and students. Leisure Industry Academy’s focus is to help people find a career suited to them in the health and fitness industry, whether it is further developing their role as a health and fitness professional or a complete career change. The Academy offers a diverse array of courses to suit all levels and abilities including Fitness Instruction, Kettlebell Training, Sports Nutrition and Olympic Lifting. Courses are taught by fitness professionals and tutors who specialise in areas such as Pre and Post Natal Exercise, Mental Health and Diabetes and Obesity.
