Local tech talent rewarded by Fujitsu at Women in Tech Awards

Leading digital transformation company, Fujitsu was delighted to be a part of an exciting night, celebrating the exceptional women working in Northern Ireland's technology industry.

Hosted by local broadcaster Sarah Travers, over 300 guests attended the annual Women in Tech Awards which took place on Thursday 25th May 2023 at the Europa Hotel, Belfast celebrating individuals who have achieved great success within NI’s innovative tech industry.

As an organisation that is passionate about championing careers in the tech industry, Fujitsu was proud to sponsor the ‘Tech Advocate of the Year’ Award, with finalists shortlisted for going above and beyond their role to support and encourage more women into the tech industry.

Claire Nixon from Realtime Recruitment took home the award on the night, which was presented by Geraldine Guest, Head of Delivery at Fujitsu NI. Geraldine was in attendance with fellow members of Fujitsu’s NI team to hear about the fantastic nominees and celebrate the achievements of those in our local tech industry.

Claire was hailed as an inspiring leader and role model by the judging panel, making significant contributions to the local tech industry, with a particular focus on diversity and encouraging and coaching women and girls into the tech industry.

Commenting on the awards, Geraldine said; “Fujitsu is proud to be the sponsors of the Tech Advocate of the Year Award this year. It was amazing to see so many incredible women honoured and celebrated by their peers for the outstanding work they do every day. The Women in Tech Awards continue to promote and recognise diversity within the technology industry, which we at Fujitsu recognise is so important.

We are delighted that Claire Nixon was named as ‘Tech Advocate of the Year’. Claire’s devotion to her role is evident to those that know her and her commitment to diversity in the tech sector is inspiring for the future generations.”
