Make 2015 the year to abseil for kids with cancer

Cancer Fund for Children is calling on people to sign up to the Europa Abseil on February 22 next year and help raise funds so the charity can support local families affected by cancer. The Europa Abseil is an exhilarating event with real meaning. Funds raised will help provide youth residentials at Narnia; Cancer Fund for Children’s unique log cabin at the foot of the Mourne Mountains. Narnia provides an escape from cancer, hospitals and doctors. It’s here, children living with cancer take part in group activities to help them cope better with their illness and know they are not alone.

 

Sorcha Chipperfield, who took part in the challenge last year, said it was “exhilarating” and “so much fun”.

 

The north Belfast girl added: “I loved every minute of it. It was the scariest thing I’ve ever done but I’m so glad I did it. The feeling of going over that edge and seeing Belfast like never before combined with the knowledge that I’d helped make a real difference to local children with cancer was simply incredible.”
