New Frontiers for WiBSE

Since hosting its first women's day event in 2022, Mitsubishi Electric Ireland has been a leading force in creating a supportive platform for women in the building services industry.
When Adrienne Gorman, WiBSE Northern Ireland Representative, reached out to partner on an event to celebrate the launch of their newest chapter, Mitsubishi Electric was thrilled to join as a sponsor and co-host. This aligned perfectly with our commitment to fostering an empowering environment for women in this industry.
"Creating an open community where women can unite their experiences is vital for progress and inclusivity," said Adrienne. "We want to inspire younger girls to pursue STEM fields and demonstrate that with determination and passion, the possibilities are limitless."
WiBSE aims to inspire the next generation of women in building services engineering and create a robust support network. With Mitsubishi Electric Ireland's strong history of running successful women's events, we were able to create a fantastic opportunity to celebrate achievements, encourage more women to join the industry, and explore cross-sector growth.
"Such events showcase the limitless career advancement opportunities available to women in our industry, including senior roles, success stories, and courses," said Margaret Rafter, Consultant Sales Engineer at Mitsubishi Electric. "They also provide a platform for female engineers from diverse fields to connect, collaborate, and explore cross-sector growth."
The event, held at The Waterman House in Belfast, featured a "Paint & Sip" activity, providing attendees with a unique opportunity to engage in a creative activity while networking. These events are crucial for fostering friendships and meaningful connections within the industry.
The establishment of the newest WiBSE chapter in Northern Ireland marks a significant milestone in our mission to inspire and support women in the building services industry. It highlights the importance of such platforms in empowering women and fostering a more inclusive and supportive industry environment.
"These events are crucial for individual development and promoting broader gender equality in the professional world," concluded Siobhán Gilroy, Business Development Manager Leinster Region at Mitsubishi Electric Ireland. "They help highlight and address challenges in our industry and promote discussions on equality and inclusion."
