Tell us about your role and your organisation.

I am UK/WE FXMM Head of Securities and Derivatives Senior group manger at Citi Belfast. I am directly responsible for the Core Single Name FX Business with a revenue of $5.6billion. I have direct oversight of 65% of the Global FX volume, settlement of 300k transactions a day totaling in excess of $500BN which support the key client relationships for the FXMM franchise. In addition, I support the Markets Treasury Business with settlements in excess of 250BN across the UK/WE legal vehicles. I am proud to work for an organistion that has consistently been named as the #1 FX brokerage globally.

What has been your career journey so far?

I joined Citi August 2008 as a Team Lead in FX Operations with no investment banking experience or degree, fast forward 15 years I am a now Director with a team of 80 staff across Belfast and Poland.

Organised, Determined, Fun.

Who has been your biggest career inspiration and why?

Me! I have always wanted to do better for myself and challenged myself to progress and improve in every role I have did.

What is one skill that helps you most in your role?

Outside the box thinking.

What advice do you have for others in or thinking or exploring a career in your sector/industry/type of role?

Be brave and be prepared to throw yourself into areas that take you outside of your comfort zone. In Citi we operate on a global platform with a constantly changing landscape, there will always be something new to learn! Do what you can to keep yourself active and engaged.

Are there any exciting plans in the year ahead in your organisation that you can share with us?

We have a primary focus on cross training and creating bench strength across the groups to enable more focus on processing risk reduction.
