60 Seconds with Laura Healy of Kainos | Workday Practice
Tell us about your role and your organisation.
A proud ambassador for Kainos, where our people lead from the front, solving the biggest challenges for the world’s biggest brands. Our aim is to build a better world through technology, and leave a lasting positive impact, changing the way our customers work for the better. As Talent Partner at Kainos I'm one of the first points of contact on your journey into the Workday Practice, giving advice and guidance on the career opportunities within this part of our organisation.

Give us a brief overview of your career journey so far...
The bulk of my professional experience spans across recruitment & staffing. There aren't many industries that I haven't covered throughout my career - from supplying high volume staff to sporting venues to finding that one key hire that businesses rely heavily on. In my earlier career I specialised in temporary staffing, which has given me a heavily solutions driven approach to my work. Since joining Kainos I have been humorously branded Workday's "Recruitment Fairy Godmother"...a nickname I think fondly off.

Describe yourself in 3 words.
Expressive, measured and methodical

What is one skill that helps you most in your role?
Strong Communication

What advice do you have for women in the Tech sector?
Be your most authentic self and you will encourage others to be vulnerable and do the same.

Are there any exciting plans in the year ahead in your organisation that you can share with us?
We are implementing an initiative launched by one of our own employees called "Manual of Me" - a tool which can be shared with colleagues, clients and suppliers as a user guide to your working style and preferences.

Who has been your biggest career inspiration and why?
When I was a teenager my aunt opened her own Hair Salon. She only hired me to brush up hair and make tea for customers at the weekends, but I picked up a lot of important soft skills the more time I spent there. Her entrepreneurship and unwavering belief in herself has always stayed with me throughout my career, she was an amazing role model for me to have as a young female. Because she showed me that I could do it too.

If you had to pick your soundtrack song to get you through the working day, what would it be?
Water Under the Bridge by Adele.

What's your favourite break-time snack?
Kallø beetroot and balsamic rice cakes - they taste just like Pickled Onion Monster Munch!
