Tell us about your role and your organisation

My job is to provide account support for local businesses using Dojo card payment terminals and business funding. Dojo is a premium brand, offering businesses a bespoke solution for taking card payments. Does your business use card machines to get paid? Whether big or small, Dojo can help your business run more efficiently. We tailor the package to suit your specific business, reducing rates, making sure you get paid faster, all with transparent costing. Our card machine is new generation (think smart phone) with a built in SIM so works remotely anywhere. From hospitality gratuity options to payment links, we have it all covered. We offer business funding - repaid at a controlled affordability level. We offer additional free services including integrating with over 600 ePOS providers, payment links, referral commissions and much more. 

 

Give us a brief overview of your career journey so far

My career path has taken a few different turns over 20 years. From interior design, home improvement sales, and then into business management in which I was responsible for 30+ staff and 6 branches of a national merchant group. I then had a 5 year career break to start my family, followed by setting up my own events / party business. Now, I am currently self employed in the business financial market, plunging into the B2B sector and enjoying the challenges.

What is one skill that helps you most in your role?

Organisation. 
 

What advice do you have for women in your type of role?

To be a successful entrepreneur, you must be flexible, intuitive and ambitious. Stay updated with the advancements in your industry and always deliver quality. A professional and genuine approach is key. Always do what is right to protect your reputation. Take risks, challenge yourself, set goals and remember to reward yourself.
 

Are there any exciting plans in the year ahead in your organisation that you can share with us?

Lots! Dojo is expanding to Ireland, France, Italy and USA. On a personal level, I am seeking partnerships to help drive my business. If you are a trusted source, with business connections, reach out to me.

Who has been your biggest career inspiration and why?
My first boss. She saw my potential - even when I couldn't and opened doors for me in my career.

If you had to pick your soundtrack song to get you through the working day, what would it be?
"Dont stop, til you get enough".
