Throughout my 20 year career in recruitment, my greatest pleasure and motivator has always been delivering THAT news… “you’ve got the job!”  I love the “win-win” of a happy manager finding the best talent for their role and a delighted candidate, taking the next leap in their career. What a feeling!
 
Thankfully, I have had wonderful opportunities in great companies which allowed me to acquire a wealth of knowledge in the selection space. I have interviewed thousands of candidates over the years, designed numerous interviews and assessments, trained hundreds of diverse and global managers in interview skills and I have also led my own recruiting teams. I have seen it all when it comes to interviewing and selecting!
 
While seeing people get their dream job is a great joy for me, conversely, telling people “sorry, not this time” can be a difficult conversation to have. What makes this even harder is when you know the candidate had more to give and did not share the best of their experience on the day. 
 
Fortunately, “NO” does not have to be the last word! I have also spent many years providing constructive feedback and coaching to candidates who did not get the job first time around and have been in the very happy position to witness many of them take on this advice and ace their next interview.  
 
And so… it is for this reason that I created Stellar Impact! It is my aim to demystify interviews and show that these are not events which should be feared, but rather an opportunity to impress the panel with your skills and experience. I have the benefit of understanding what managers are looking for and I know the numerous ways candidates can struggle to demonstrate their real worth in an interview scenario.
