Deborah Kinder of Get Up & Get On Paddleboarding
Monday 13 February 2023
Hi, my name is Deborah. I am a busy mum of 4 kids and I love keeping fit and outdoor pursuits. I have always enjoyed spending time in the ocean whether it is swimming, surfing, coasteering or paddleboarding with my friends and family, so I felt it was the perfect idea to come up with my business Get up & Get on paddleboarding.
Get up and get on paddleboarding is my exciting venture offering local people and tourists, lessons and tours of the coastal waterways in Northern Ireland. My strong family ties to the North Coast, namely Portrush, guaranteed my love for the water whether it be sailing, surfing or paddling.
A friend introduced me to SUP twelve years ago, and from that moment I was hooked. I am a qualified beach lifeguard and an ASI SUP instructor, this combined with a keen interest in health and fitness led to the creation of Get Up & Get On Paddleboarding. My courses aim for participants to progress quickly with an emphasis on safety and fun.
I’ve always been active, with SUP I get the satisfaction of a good workout, but more importantly the connected experience with the water that I’ve always sought from other water-based pursuits. Paddleboarding for me is true escapism, I love the freedom and chase to explore quiet back waters on a beautiful sunny day, I can relax with friends, watch the sunrise and enjoy the peace and tranquillity! It relaxes my mind and strengthens my body. Quite simply being out in the water, at one with nature is the perfect tonic. Whether it's with my children, friends or clients, paddleboarding is my passion! A passion that helped me Get Up & Get on!
Get up and get on paddleboarding offers local people and corporate clients, lessons and tours of the coastal waterways in Northern Ireland. As a keen experienced and qualified paddleboarder I would love to offer people a fun experience exploring the nature and sights of our beautiful coastline. I offer tuition 1-1, groups and hen parties, corporate or team-building days at various beauty spots on our coast.
Paddleboarding provides a unique and neutral environment for your team where they can reconnect with one another and with nature. Escaping the hustle and bustle of the corporate world and spending the day having fun in the sea (or on the River Lagan if you prefer and are based in Belfast). It offers new opportunities for your team to communicate in ways which aren’t accessible in an office environment.
Not only is this experience fun, but we also guarantee it will improve employee engagement and team collaboration. Many of our clients report that it results in a more positive and productive working environment back at the office.
If your company’s culture is big on team development, team wellness and team cohesion, a team day or half day paddleboarding should be high up on your to do list!
