Elaine Dobson - Tahlia Leather

Tahlia Leather is a manufacturer of luxury leather jackets and handbags based in Moira Co. Armagh. Tahlia was set up by Elaine Dobson and her father in law, Jack Dobson in May 2017.

 

The unique selling point for the company is that the Nappa leather is sourced from the UK and Ireland.

 

As the company oversees the process from farm to fashion, the team can ensure that all Tahlia products are of premium quality.  Elaine’s father-in-law, Jack Dobson, selects the best quality leather using his expertise as the former owner of Dunbia, based in Dungannon. Tahlia then manage the tannery as the leather is carefully dyed in unique shades and created into beautiful products. We believe that Tahlia Leather fills a gap in the Northern Irish fashion market for local and sustainable luxury fashion.

 

During the first year of Tahlia Leather, Elaine has also focused on creating a fun and enjoyable shopping experience for the customer and creating a greater sense of community in the Northern Ireland fashion scene. Throughout the year she has organised many afternoon tea events at the Tahlia Leather studio in Moira, where ladies can shop, chat and enjoy a few treats.

 

Additionally, Elaine has held fashion shows and afternoon teas at Saphyre restaurant and the Merchant Hotel, where ladies can come together for an enjoyable afternoon of glamorous style, canapes and a glass of sparkling.  We’ve been honoured to have these events featured in the Ulster Tatler, in which Elaine has also recently written a piece for the ‘My Style’ edit.

Throughout the year, Elaine has continued innovating to create exciting new styles for each season.  For the SS18 collection, Tahlia Leather brought out a collection of jackets in a unique pastel palette of peach and mint colours.  For the winter season, Elaine is bringing back her bestselling leather puffer coat along with statement jackets for the Christmas party season.

Elaine has recently joined Women in Business and is looking forward to participating in the events held throughout the year.
