Our Young Women's Network member, Sarah Ramsey is proud to be a woman in agriculture and it’s so great to see the growing number of women across the nation working within the industry!

Sarah grew up on the family farm and it is all she has ever known, which is why her interest began to flourish in the agriculture industry when she was only 13! "I always wanted to farm and have my own cattle and do what I love and know" says Sarah. As she is currently studying retail, Sarah will complete her studies in November 2021 with a level 1/2 diploma.

Sarah believes that "to get where you want to be, you have to have an interest - always work hard, no matter what anyone says, as people will try to bring you down, but you just have to keep taking those little steps because you don’t just go to the top in the blink of an eye!"

As an advocate for the agricultural industry, Sarah would love for others to become more educated in how the industry works - how a farmer is providing for the nation and how the working farm is like any other business (apart from the fact that it's 24/7!). Sarahs passion for her job shines through, "Farming is what I love, I love getting out and stuck in with the animals from sunrise to sun set, farming is morning, noon and night, especially when it is lambing or calving season. We could be up all night making sure nothing goes wrong and doing the best we can to deliver new life into the world, this is our lifestyle, this is our home, our business and it’s all we’ve ever grown to know.". The only way to do great work, is to love what you do!
