Veronica Ellis of Mindfulness Connected Learning I’m a qualified teacher with over 25 years’ teaching experience and now teach mindfulness to individuals, organisations and community groups. My wish, when teaching mindfulness is to create a space that feels comfortable so that people can explore and experience the benefits of mindfulness in a relaxed and comfortable way. Mindfulness is not just about sitting on a meditation cushion and I am committed to helping children and adults find ways of making mindfulness meaningful and relevant in their own contexts so that they can integrate it into everyday life.

I set up Mindfulness Connected Learning in 2015 after leaving a full-time pensionable job and whilst this felt like quite a risk at the time I was inspired to do so because of the huge impact mindfulness has had on my own life. I wanted to find ways of sharing this with others. I came to mindfulness many years ago from a place of extreme stress and anxiety and have found that it not only helped me to take care of very difficult emotions but also gave me a whole new way of looking at life and a whole new way of being in life. I feel that my life is fuller, more colourful, more compassionate, more balanced and more fun because of the practice of living with awareness, the practice of living mindfully.
We have had so many adjustments to our lives over the last two years and as stress levels have increased globally we most likely have noticed an increase in stress in our own lives and in our workplace. This is no surprise considering what we have had to negotiate and change in order to be at work, whether that is in person  in our place of work or remotely.

I feel that mindfulness has an important place in every aspect of our lives but particularly at this time it is vital that we find ways of looking after ourselves whilst at work. When we practise mindfulness we learn how to take care of stress and we find ways to work with more ease and more enjoyment.  That’s why I decided to develop some new workbased training for 2022, Mindfulness in the Workplace.  If you are already practising mindfulness you will be aware of the personal benefits. However, there is also a very strong business case for mindfulness in the workplace and it is as simple, as it is compelling:

“The main business case for meditation is that if you’re fully present on the job, you will be more effective as a leader, you will make better decisions and you will work better with other people,”
William George, Goldman Sachs Board Member and Harvard Business School Fellow

Research has shown that Mindfulness at work can have the following effects:
•            Enhanced communication
•            Relationship building and collaborative working.
•            Improved personal resilience
•            Empathy and emotional regulation.
It’s no surprise that these skills are all seen in successful leaders and strong teams.

My new training will offer tailored solutions for employers to help their teams manage life inside and outside the workplace, I will offer the following:
•            One off taster sessions by way of introduction to mindfulness.
•            6 week course approx. 1.5 hours per week using evidence based programmes.
•            Bespoke course content to suit your organisation, management team or board.
•            One to one sessions.

All of this work can be delivered in person, online or through a combination of the two.  If you’d like to discuss how I could support your organisation with employee wellbeing please don’t hesitate to contact me.  I’m available by mindfulnessconnect@gmail.com or telephone 07738371068.
