Future-Proof by Recruiting Higher Level Apprenticeships with Southern Regional College

As businesses navigate the ever-evolving landscape of workforce development, Southern Regional College (SRC) is ready to help you address the shortage of qualified workers in Northern Ireland, which is particularly prominent when seeking staff qualified between Levels 4-6. 

SRC's HLA programme offers 18 distinct pathways including 13 Foundation Degrees at Level 5 and 5 Bachelor's Degrees at Level 6 to help you address these needs across Construction, Engineering, Business, Sport, Hospitality, Computing and Science. Employers are able to choose to upskill existing staff or recruit from a talent pool of applicants provided by SRC. 

HLA’s become full-time employees of your company, dedicating one day per week during term time for off-the-job training at SRC and spend the rest of the time with their employer gaining hands-on, practical experience. 

HLA’s will graduate not only with desirable qualifications, but also at least 2 years’ experience* and knowledge of your business in their chosen subject area, helping propel your business forward and grow your talent pipeline.
 
*course length varies from 2-3 years

Why should you recruit with SRC?
SRC offers a free apprentice recruitment service and all selection and recruitment is controlled by the employer, giving you the ability to enhance entry criteria to meet your specific needs. Moreover, tuition and registration costs for HLA programmes are covered by the Department for the Economy. 

In September 2023, SRC enrolled a record-high of 224 year 1 HLA apprentices with 156 employers. The momentum continues into 2024, with the volume of applications for September 2024 continuing to rise.
