The Women in Business Awards celebrate, reward and acknowledge the hard work and achievements of some of the most successful, entrepreneurial and inspiring business women throughout Northern Ireland.  Now in their 5th year, the Women in Business Awards allow all sectors and industries to come together for an evening of celebration to recognise the best of home grown talent and the valuable contribution that women make to the economic life of Northern Ireland.  
 
This year’s Awards will be held at the stunning Culloden Estate & Spa on Thursday 19th November. Guaranteed to be our biggest celebration to date, the Women in Business Awards celebrate, acknowledge and reward the hard work and achievements of some of Northern Ireland's most successful entrepreneurs, business owners, senior managers and leaders.

We are delighted to announce history-maker, The Honourable Madam Justice McBride, as guest speaker at the 5th Annual Women in Business Awards!

Sworn in last month, Denise McBride is now one of Northern Ireland’s first female high court judges with no women having previously held the position since the north’s High Court was established in 1921.

Ms McBride Q.C. is a former pupil of Clough Primary School and Down High School, Downpatrick. She graduated from Queen's University, Belfast with an LLB Honours degree in June 1988 and was called to the Bar of Northern Ireland the following year. She was appointed a Queen's Counsel in September 2011 before being appointed a High Court judge in Northern Ireland on 23 October 2015.

Ms McBride Q.C. has appeared as an advocate at all court levels including the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom. As a Queen's Counsel she had a wide ranging practice specialising in chancery, family, civil and international law.

Ms McBride Q.C. was appointed an Honorary Lecturer at Queen's University Belfast in 2006 in recognition of her long service as a tutor and guest lecturer. She was elected Vice Chair of the Bar Council and served from 2012-2014. 

She has made a significant contribution to legal education, by writing articles for leading legal journals and giving lectures at various local, UK and international legal conferences.

1. Entrants must be based or have their chief operations in Northern Ireland.
 
2. Please ensure nominees are available on Thursday 19th November 2015 for the Awards Ceremony.
 
3. An application form will need to be completed for each entrant. The information provided will be disclosed only to the judges. Do not send any other documents /supporting materials as these will not be accepted.
 
4. There will be one winner per category and one recipient of the Women in Business Outstanding Businesswoman of the Year Award.
 
5. The judges’ decision will be final and no correspondence will be entered into before or after the judging. All decisions regarding the judging process are made by our judging panel.
 
6. Details provided in the application form will potentially be used, with approval, for press releases and web content if the nominee is placed as a finalist or winner, so please ensure it is factually correct - we will not be liable for inaccuracies published based on nomination content and changes may not be possible after publication.
 
7. Applications that do not meet the entry criteria will not be accepted.
 
8. Entrants can nominate themselves or be nominated by someone else.
 
9. Entrants can apply for more than one category but must submit a full application each time i.e. one category per application.
