The Women in Business Awards celebrate, reward and acknowledge the hard work and achievements of some of the most successful, entrepreneurial and inspiring business women throughout Northern Ireland.  Now in their 9th year, the Women in Business Awards allow all sectors and industries to come together for an evening of celebration to recognise the best of home-grown talent and the valuable contribution that women make to the economic life of Northern Ireland.  

 

This year’s Awards will be held at the beautiful Crowne Plaza, Belfast on Thursday 7th November. Guaranteed to be our biggest celebration to date, the Women in Business Awards celebrate, acknowledge and reward the hard work and achievements of some of Northern Ireland's most successful entrepreneurs, business owners, senior managers and leaders.

Rose Mary was appointed Chair of Invest Northern Ireland on 1 August 2019. Rose Mary is an experienced business leader who has successfully operated for many years at Executive Team and Board level in complex multi-disciplinary global organisations, including Ford, Boeing and Rolls-Royce, responsible for the successful delivery of multiple transformational projects in a range of disciplines, new product delivery, business models, manufacturing, logistics, service centres, recruitment and quality, across numerous industry sectors, aerospace, automotive, construction and energy.
A graduate of Queen's University Belfast, Fellow of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers and the recipient of numerous awards, including the European Woman of Achievement in Business and European Automotive Woman of the Year.
Rose Mary works as an independent consultant and serves as Non Exec Chair for Metal Forming Innovation/Tirnaform an advanced engineering start-up and is founder of 4C UR Future CIC a Not for Profit Community Interest Company dedicated to informing, inspiring and improving employability and career awareness in schoolchildren.
She has until recently served as Chair of The Prince’s Trust in Northern Ireland, Chair of The Manufacturing Task Force for Mid & East Antrim Borough Council and previously chaired The Colin Neighbourhood Partnership, Catagen Limited and been a Non-Executive Director of Catalyst Inc.

To celebrate the success of the award finalists, all finalists will be invited to attend the Finalists’ Retreat that will take place at Virgin Media Television, Dublin on Monday 21st October.  We have organised a luxury coach that will be transporting finalists to Dublin.  The fully complimentary retreat will include fantastic workshops at the Virgin Media Television Studios and also provide great networking opportunities.

Full information on this year’s Finalists’ Retreat will be announced in early October.

1. Entrants must be based or have their chief operations in Northern Ireland.
 
2. Please ensure nominees are available on Thursday 7th November 2019 for the Awards Ceremony.
 
3. An application form will need to be completed for each entrant. The information provided will be disclosed only to the judges. Do not send any other documents /supporting materials as these will not be accepted.
 
4. There will be one winner per category (unless otherwise stated) and one recipient of the Women in Business Business Woman of the Year Award.
 
5. There will be two levels per category for the following four categories– Best Customer Service, Best in Professional Services, Best Marketing Campaign and Award for Outstanding Innovation – one winner a corporate employee, the other from a small business.
 
6. Corporate entries must have a minimum of 60 employees employed within their organisation.
 
7. The judges’ decision will be final and no correspondence will be entered into before or after the judging. All decisions regarding the judging process are made by our judging panel.
 
8. Details provided in the application form will potentially be used, with approval, for press releases and web content if the nominee is placed as a finalist or winner, so please ensure it is factually correct - we will not be liable for inaccuracies published based on nomination content and changes may not be possible after publication.
 
9. Applications that do not meet the entry criteria will not be accepted.
 
10. Entrants can nominate themselves or be nominated by someone else.
 
11. Entrants can apply for more than one category but must submit a full application each time i.e. one category per application.
